Our Story

May of 2011 saw Chonna and I buy our first home, move to Rowlett and all while expecting our oldest son. We were working great jobs, had just started our third year of marriage and found joy volunteering at our home church. We knew God had a dream for us, because, with-in five months of relocating I was being asked to consider stepping away from my corporate job to join the team of pastors at our home church. After a few weeks of prayer, Chonna and I knew how the Holy Spirit was leading us and I accepted the position on our church staff.

After 7 years and multiple opportunities on that team, we accepted an offer with a great church in the North Chicago suburbs. That move by itself; stretched our faith, but once again God had his own plan. Just three hundred and sixty-five days after leaving Rowlett, we were moving our family back to Texas in the middle of a global crisis, trusting God with our future. We would get to join a beautiful church family that allowed us to serve their pastor’s vision for over three years.

Through leaving and returning to Texas, we began feeling the heart to plant a new church in Rowlett as far back as 2016. We are excited to see that Local Church is where we’re called to let that heart beat strong!
