Pastors Mark & Chonna Nelson
Mark
A husband and father, Pastor Mark’s passion is for lost people to be found by Jesus, changed by the Gospel and grow in their Holy Spirit empowered faith. Married for 16 years to Chonna Nelson, they love the city and people of Rowlett, TX.
A third generation pastor with over 15 years in active ministry, he loves Jesus and encouraging people. Mark also desires to inspire people in greater obedience to the Word of God.
Mark accepted the call to pastor and preach in 2004 as a Student Pastor in South Dallas. Those 4 years in South Dallas were followed by 7 years as an Associate Pastor in Rowlett, Tx and a 1 year ministry assignment in the North Chicago Suburbs of Illinois.
In 2020, the Nelsons moved back to Texas and served with a great church for 3 years until being sent to plant Local Church.
Chonna
A wife and mother, Chonna is the first person to pray for you, worship through it all and celebrate the wins God gives. Her passion is to see children become familiar with the Word of God, the power of His presence and strength of community.
Growing up with parents in ministry, she has always loved the church. Chonna also desires to see diversity honored on Earth as it is in Heaven.
A graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelors in Business, Chonna has been serving in ministry for over a decade. She has been faithful to the call and now her focus is set on bringing Local Church to Rowlett.
Her first priority is her family at home, but her heart expands for the family of God.
